Morocco reports 137 new COVID-19 cases, 6,418 in total

Rabat - Morocco on Tuesday reported 137 new COVID-19 cases, raising the tally of infections in the country to 6,418. The number of recoveries increased to 2,991 with 180 new recoveries, Mohamed El Youbi, director of epidemiology at the Ministry of Health, said at a daily briefing. The country's COVID-19 death toll now stood at 188, as no new fatality was recorded in the last 24 hours, the official said. In addition, about 9,000 people who had contacts with the infected patients were still under medical surveillance. Youbi underlined the stability of the coronavirus mortality rate in Morocco, which stands at 3 percent, adding that the recovery rate rose to 46.6 percent.
