Morocco, Kuwait Urge All Libyan Parties to Show Restraint and Avoid Violence





Kuwait - The Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Kuwait voiced on Tuesday their deep concern over the military escalation in Libya, calling on all Libyan parties to show restraint and avoid the logic of violence. The two parties also reaffirmed that the solution to the crisis in Libya can only be political in accordance with the Skhirat Agreement, wrote the minutes issued following the 9th session of the Moroccan-Kuwaiti Joint committee held in Kuwait. In this spirit, Morocco and Kuwait called upon all parties to adhere, seriously and in good will, to the United Nations initiative to organize a forum of national unity to help the political process move forward, implement legal frameworks of reference, organize elections and build the national institutions.

Morocco and Kuwait signed, at the end of the 9th session of the joint committee, chaired by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kuwait, five bilateral cooperation agreements in the different fields as well as the minutes of the meeting.
