Rabat - Policemen belonging to the provincial police district of the city of Mdiq-Fnideq arrested, on Sunday evening, six individuals, including a Spanish citizen of Moroccan origin and five Algerians, suspected of being involved in a case linked to the organization of illegal immigration, illegal stay in Morocco, refusal to comply and violation of the state of health emergency. According to the first elements of the investigation, the suspect of Spanish nationality had received from the five Algerian citizens seven thousand euros to help them illegally immigrate to Europe, before a dispute broke out between the two parties in the streets of Fnideq because of the failure to keep this promised criminal activity, said a press release from the National Police (DGSN).

The police intervened to settle this dispute and arrest the suspects, but the latter fiercely resisted and attacked the police by throwing kitchen utensils from the interior of the house where they resided, and were later on all arrested, added the same source. The six suspects were remanded in police custody for the investigation carried out by the judicial police of T├ętouan under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, to shed light on this case and determine its ramifications nationally and internationally, the press release concluded.
