Cooperation Between Ghana and Morocco Exemplary in Agriculture, Ghanaian Minister

Accra - Cooperation between Ghana and Morocco is exemplary in agriculture, Ghanaian Minister of Food and Agriculture Owusu Afriyie Akoto said on Thursday in Accra.

"The agreement signed with the Moroccan OCP Group in order to fully optimize the fertilizer value chain in the Ghanaian agriculture is a proof of this exemplary cooperation," Akoto said in a statement to MAP on the sidelines of the African forum on green revolution, organized in the Ghanaian capital. He noted that the joint initiatives by Ghana's Ministry of Food and Agriculture and OCP will improve employability, provide access to quality fertilizers at competitive prices and greatly optimize fertilizer consumption by Ghanaian farmers.

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the OCP Group signed on Thursday in Accra a cooperation agreement on farmer-focused activities, soil mapping, innovation and digital registering of farmers, as well as a "Term Sheet" for the industrial project aimed at strengthening the main aspects of the development of Ghana's agriculture and industry. Established in 2016, OCP Africa works hand in hand with farmers to help enhance the continent's vast agricultural potential. It also offers solutions adapted to local conditions and to the specific needs of crops.
