COMADER Reassures Populations of Continuity of Production and Market Supply

Rabat - In the context of the exceptional circumstances following the spread of the pandemic of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development (COMADER) reassures the populations of the continuity of production and supply of the national market. "In the context of the state of health emergency decreed by the Kingdom of Morocco to fight Covid 19, the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development (COMADER) as well as the 19 inter-trade organizations constituting it ensure their total mobilization for the benefit of the continuity of the activity and the agricultural production and will make sure to continue playing their role of supervising the agricultural profession particularly in these circumstances which our country is undergoing, in order to ensure a normal and regular supply of the markets with agricultural food products", said COMADER in a press release.

The supply situation is no cause for concern because the supply of agricultural and processed products greatly exceeds the current and future demand, the same source stressed, recalling that in accordance with the provisions adopted by the State, the wholesale markets, large and medium-sized stores as well as retail outlets remain open and regularly supplied. In addition, the Confederation welcomed the strong and continuous mobilization of farmers and operators in the agricultural and agrifood sector and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests for the strong support and mobilization for farmers and operators in all its central and regional services as well as establishments under its supervision, the same source added. COMADER invites the agricultural inter-trade organizations to take the necessary measures to protect the health of workers in the fields and in processing units, by respecting health rules.
