Autonomy Proposal, Only Solution to Settle Dispute Over Moroccan Sahara, Malian Portal

Bamako  - The autonomy proposal is the only solution to settle the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, wrote on Thursday Malian portal of information "Malijet".

The Polisario's fraudulent schemes and other petty attempts to torpedo the process validated by the United Nations will not change anything since the Moroccan autonomy proposal for the Southern provinces, which respects the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco, is the only solution to settle the dispute created by Algerian officials over the Moroccan Sahara, said the author of the article. HM King Mohammed VI recalled in his Speech on the occasion of the Throne Day, on July 29, 2019, that the full sovereignty of Morocco within the framework of the autonomy initiative is the only possible way to reach the desired settlement. This firm position by the Sovereign, validated by all the international community, contrasts strongly with the childish gestures by the enemies of Morocco who are becoming more and more isolated on the international scene, said the "Malijet". The latest example comes from the Brazilian Federal Senate. In fact the Brazilian Federal Senate adopted, on September 3, 2019, a motion in support of the Moroccan autonomy initiative for its Saharan provinces, respecting the territorial integrity and the national sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco, the same source noted.

This document underlined that Brazil's support for the Moroccan autonomy proposal will be consistent with UN Security Council resolutions and with the position of the international community to reach a realistic and consensual political solution to this regional conflict, the Malian portal added. The motion, which welcomes the common values of tolerance, plurality and diversity linking Morocco to Brazil, is the first of its kind to be adopted by the Brazilian Senate and crowns a long process during which Brazil expressed and reiterated, at the executive and legislative levels, a clear and mass support for a political solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, with the plan of autonomy as a relevant framework to achieve this goal, the source concluded.
