Crans Montana Forum: Specialized Medical Campaign for Sub-Saharans in Dakhla Launched




Dakhla - A specialized medical campaign for the benefit of sub-Saharans living in Dakhla was launched, on Friday, on the sidelines of the 5th Crans Montana Forum, held on March 14-17 under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI. This campaign, organized by the provincial health delegation, aims to improve access by a population of 1,600 migrants to specialized care, through 500 multidisciplinary consultations and several surgical interventions at the Oued Eddahab hospital. In a statement to MAP, director of Hassan II Hospital in Dakhla Fatima Aslaou said that this two-day campaign, organized as part of South-South cooperation, includes health care services as exploratory radiology checkups (standard radiology, ultrasound, CT, mammography) and distribution of medicines.

President of the Oued Eddahab-Lagouira Doctors Association Tarik Mesbahi said that the association is taking part in this human initiative with 17 specialized doctors, two general practitioners and nurses. The medical staff will conduct consultations and diagnoses according to specialties and cases, in addition to emergency surgical interventions, he said.
